Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Jenn worked in the hospitality industry for 12 years wearing many hats. In her early 30's, Jenn decided to take the dive, leaving everything behind to pursue her dream attending the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. She earned her associates degree in 2016 and was awarded the James Beard, 'Women in Culinary Leadership Mentee' which landed her in the Boka Restaurant Group, located in Chicago. She helped open GT Prime in the River North Neighborhood of Chicago. Since then, Jenn has worked for Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat/Duck Duck Goat/Little Goat Diner) as her assistant sous chef and special project manager. Gaining a lot of experience, Jenn made the decision to pursue Food Styling and Photography. "Being in the kitchen of a high profile chef gave me a lot of opportunity to learn to roll with the flow. Last minute changes happen so frequently due to weather, shows popping up, filling in for team member, etc. When COVID hit, not only did the industry suffer but so did freelance work. Learning to be flexible brought me back to Northeast Ohio to be with family and to seek new adventures within the food industry." Jenn is most excited to get to know new students, potential students, and the growing ICASI community this fall! She believes it's never too late to learn something new, whether it is a trade, career, or skill, it's most important to be happy and fulfilled! If you see Jenn in the kitchens or talk to her on the phone, give her a warm welcome!
