"SAY CHEESE!" FESTIVAL
A Scholarship Fund-Raiser October 12, 2013, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm $40 per person ($30 tax deductible) Scholarship Fund-Raiser
Join the faculty and students of the International Culinary Arts and Sciences Institute, along with their cheese industry sponsors and affiliates, for a fun-filled celebration of the art of cheese-making. This interactive event will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about cheese through educational seminars, cooking and cheese-making demonstrations, sampling, and wine pairing. While learning, cheese lovers can enjoy background musical entertainment, collect literature about cheese, its manufacture, and its uses, and even help judge student Mac and Cheese and Cheesecake cooking competitions. Representatives of cheese producers spanning the spectrum from small local artisans to internationally recognized leaders will be on hand to answer all your questions about their products. Made in Ohio food artisans will also be in attendance to exhibit their own locally produced products. While expressing the love of cheese, attendees will also help generate needed tuition resources for the ICASI Scholarship Fund, an independent 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to provide scholarship funds to deserving students seeking a career Culinary or Pastry Arts. Please register now for this fun and important event by calling 440-729-1110

Are you looking for a new career in the culinary or pastry arts? Do you want to discover world cuisines in a great professional setting? Feed your culinary passion with an exciting new career at ICASI, The International Culinary Arts & Sciences Institute. We offer an excellent, extensive and affordable culinary career close to home in Cleveland, Ohio.
A career in the culinary arts seems to be a safe bet - it's an industry that's hard to outsource. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall job opportunities are holding steady and are expected to remain that way through 2020. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that as of May 2010, the median annual wage of chefs and head cooks was $40,630. That depends, of course, on the path graduates choose. Your culinary career begins with new students choosing between culinary or pastry art, and whether you want to earn a certificate or a diploma and it doesn't end until you are fully prepared for a career beyond the back of the house.
Chef Tim McCoy education director of ICASI, said the school sends students into the real world with real-world skills - the business aspect of running a kitchen, the human-resource aspect of hiring line cooks and sous chefs, and the management aspect of operating a restaurant, catering business or a bake shop.

Local Culinary School Takes a Tasty Turn on Latest Serving of WVIZ/PBS Cooks!
Talented instructors and alumni from Northeast Ohio’s International Culinary Arts & Sciences Institute (ICASI) will share some of their most comforting, tasty and doable dishes during “L is for Luscious Learning,” the brand-new edition of WVIZ/PBS Cooks! premiering Saturday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. on WVIZ/PBS.
“L is for Luscious Learning” will be hosted by Stefanie Paganini, who teaches classes for ICASI’s professional pastry program, as well as recreational classes at ICASI’s sister school, The Loretta Paganini School of Cooking, both of which are located in Chesterland. Stefanie is a Cleveland cooking ambassador of sorts, making regular appearances on WKYC-TV, WDOK-FM and, most recently, at the Fabulous Food Show at the I-X Center.
Stefanie and 10 other chefs who studied and/or teach at ICASI will each demonstrate one of their favorite recipes—such as Texas Short Rib Stew, Butternut Squash Soup and Mocha Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce—live on the air. In addition to being delicious, each dish promises to be simple to prepare. Each chef’s recipe, along with more than 100 additional savory and sweet submissions from the chefs, will be included in a cookbook especially compiled to complement this episode of WVIZ/PBS Cooks! The new “L is for Luscious Learning” cookbook will be available as a thank-you gift for a pledge to WVIZ/PBS during Saturday’s the broadcast.
